Overview

Austin Vita are currently recruiting a Planning Manager for a new, 3 month contract position, supporting an established Medical Device manufacturer based in Essex. This is a great opportunity to join a leading business in an assignment that would see you providing support to a critical project as the client the transition to a new SAP system.

As Planning Manager, you will have a strong background in Production Planning, and any broader S&OP experience will be advantageous. Working with the client’s Operations and Production teams, you will be tasked with helping to resolve issues related to production/manufacturing, collaborating with key stakeholders and process owners to help improve their planning processes/function.

For this position, planning experience in a production/manufacturing environment is essential, and the client are open to individuals coming from a range of industries. The position will require you to be on-site five days a week, though there may be some flexibility re. transitioning into a hybrid role after an initial bedding in period.

    • Conduct thorough analysis of current and new manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

    • Utilize lean methodologies and data-driven approaches to drive continuous improvement efforts.
    • Collaborate on planning and executing Lean training programs.
    • Mentor/Lead Kaizen or problem-solving activities to drive sustainable results across Manufacturing Operations.
    • Collaborate and deploy visual management systems across manufacturing lines and supporting functions linked to management system.
    • Support New Product and Process introduction and associated ramp-up plans. Applying best manufacturing practices and systems to facilitate success.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to simplify processes, eliminate waste, and optimize operations. Support the design of new or existing equipment to meet capacity needs.
    Experience required:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
    • Relevant experience required with Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent related experience.
    • Demonstrate a knowledge and use of DMAIC and Lean methodology problem solving tools and techniques at a level sufficient to develop, motivate and influence skilled team members as part of cross function problem solving.
    • Proven experience of delivering improvement activities, in a high volume, highly automated and regulated manufacturing environment (preferably in the medical device industry)
    • Understanding of change control and regulatory compliance within a medical device environment.
